New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani just dropped a major hint that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding is set to take place in the near future.

Mamdani, 34, was quizzed about safety precautions for the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup during a press conference on Monday, June 15, and alluded to the celebrity nuptials.

“I am fully confident in the work of the NYPD, as well as our state partners, in delivering that safe experience,” the mayor said, per Page Six.

“We are the biggest city in the country. We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one,” he added of the World Cup, which takes place across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Mamdani said, “We know it coincides with the Knicks’ [NBA] Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding — all happening at the same time — and we are so excited to welcome the world here.”

The mayor was also asked if he was invited to Swift and Kelce’s wedding and whether he planned to attend.

“No and no,” Mamdani responded. “I wish them a lovely wedding. I’ll listen to ‘Only the Young’ at home on my own.”

Swift and Kelce, 36, are rumored to be planning a wedding ceremony at Madison Square Garden, according to TMZ and Page Six. The nuptials could take place the weekend of July 3.

“They’re both involved and making decisions together,” a source told Us Weekly in April, adding that the singer and NFL player are “focused on actually enjoying the process rather than getting caught up in the pressure” of the big day.

“They’re keeping things light,” the source said.

Another source said that the wedding will be traditional, “with Taylor’s dad walking her down the aisle and all the classic touches, like the father-daughter and mother-son dances.”

“Taylor loves those emotional, meaningful moments, and Travis [is] on the same page,” the insider added.

Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in August 2025 after two years of dating.

“I know it’s gonna be fun to plan, because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount [of room] and people are on the bubble and you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them to see if they should be there. I’m not gonna do that,” Swift said of planning her wedding during an October 2025 appearance on The Graham Norton Show.

She quickly added, “I shouldn’t have said any of that.”
